I have a lot of new designs and books to tell you about, but today I wanted to post about an upcoming event.
This September I’ll be teaching at the annual Knitters’ Day Out event in Summerdale (North West Harrisburg), PA. This is a fantastic local fiber show featuring tons of great classes and a respectable marketplace. I’ve taught at this event for several years, but this is the first year I’m teaching some project based classes. Here’s a little bit about them.
First, on Friday evening, I’m teaching “Become a Better Lace Knitter“. This is Lace 201. Here you will learn new tips and tricks on how to improve your lace knitting and the skills you need to take your lace knitting to the next level. We will learn three different cast-ons, two different bind-offs, lace chart reading, and more!
Saturday are my project classes. In the morning I’m teaching the Fogliame sweater. This is probably my most favorite garment project I’ve ever designed. It’s very much like the popular Hitofude cardi…but better. Worked from the top down, raglan style, this project requires no seaming! In this class we will swatch all the techniques you need to know to make your own Fogliame.
Saturday afternoon I’m teaching the Mulinello shawl. This fun shawl is worked from the top down in an easy to wear half-circle shape. The swoops of colors are created using short rows. In the class we will be casting on for this shawl and getting started. You will learn the secrets behind the garter stitch tab, how to work short rows, and half-pi shawl construction.
I hope you can join me for these great classes! Visit the KDO website for information on registering.
